Mask of Magnaminty 

This mask is amazing.  Nicole Guerriero and Jaclyn Hill raved about this product and I decided to give it a try.

This is not a “daily” face wash.  It is a deep cleansing face AND back wash. 

The mask contains aduki beans to exfoliate the skin, vanilla absolute to calm redness and honey to soothe.  It also contains bentonite gel to deeply clean your pores and tighten your skin.

This mask smells just like peppermint and leaves your face feeling tingly after each use.

Dark Angels Facial Cleanser 

When I went get the Mask of Magnaminty, I also purchased this daily facial cleanser.  It is meant for oily skin and blemishes.  It works beautifully on my skin! 

This cleanser is made with black sugar and charcoal (giving it the black color).  This cleanser absorbs all the excess oil on my face and leaves it feeling matte and fresh.

The avocado oil in this cleanser brightens my skin and leaves it feeling smooth.

Definitely a must try for those with oily skin.

Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub 

I have never in my life had to deal with acne, thanks to wonderful genetics.

However, to my dismay, I recently started breaking out!  I woke up one morning with one massive pimple on my cheek and felt the pain of another one on its way.

I rushed to the drugstore and scoped out the ACNE section, 28yrs old and my first time having to deal with pimples….I was a wreck!

I came across this face wash, and I had heard many YouTube beauty gurus speak about this product.  I had nothing to lose so I picked it up hoping for a miracle.

Low and behold, after simply ONE use before bed that night, I woke up with not a pimple in sight!!!

This stuff is a miracle.  It contains salicylic acid and smells wonderful.  You can feel how smooth it makes your skin as you are using it.  This has become my holy-grail face wash. 

I still use my Lush cleanser, however, when your skin gets used to a product, the product doesn’t work to its fullest potential. 

This product is oil-free, so just like the Dark Angels cleanser; it does a great job maintaining my oily skin.

PONDS Exfoliating Renewal Wet Cleansing Towelettes 

While I was on the hunt for a new face wash, I was also there to stock up on my face wipes.  I usually buy the balea wipes, but right beside them I saw the Ponds wipes which happened to be on sale.  I got a value pack (2 packages) for $7.99.  That’s two for the price of one!  Each package has 30 wipes, where the Balea one is $7.99 for 56 wipes.

I have heard beauty gurus speak about Ponds wipes before but never tried them, but since they were on sale, I figured what better time?

I purchased the Citrus Cucumber scent, and let me tell you, the scent is very refreshing.

The cloths are really soft and have tiny orange beads on one side to gently exfoliate your skin.  These wipes do a great job at removing makeup and they don’t burn your eyes!

These wipes will definitely be a repurchase for me.

L’Oreal Youth Code Texture Perfector Serum 

If you don’t buy anything I recommended in this post, do yourself a favor and at least buy this product and your skin will forever be thankful.  This serum is miracle in a bottle!

This product is meant for all skin types.  The serum refines pores and fine lines while leaving your skin velvety smooth.  I apply this serum every night before bed to my face and down to my neck.   Trust me as soon as you apply this, your face will be baby soft.  And in the morning, you will definitely see and feel a difference in your skin.

It is somewhat pricey for a drugstore product at $24.99.  However, I promise you that you will not regret this purchase.  A little goes a long way with this stuff, so although it may look like a lot of product, one bottle will last you a very long time.

If you have dry skin, you can definitely double this as your primer and your foundation will go on flawlessly.  Unfortunately, my oily skin only got oily twice as fast when I paired this with my foundation.

I also want to mention that the serum has a very pleasant scent, I cannot describe it but I do like it.  I also love the packaging! 

Korres Pomegranate Balancing Cream-Gel Moisturiser 

This is my daily moisturiser and a very good one to say the least.  It is very lightweight and fresh when you applied to your face.

It instantly brightens, reduces redness and mattifies.  It does a great job keeping me from getting excessively oily and keeps my skin smooth and hydrated.

This moisturizer is specifically for oily to combination skin types.

I have repurchased this and am on my second jar now and moving on to my third.  You can find Korres at Sephora and Shoppers DrugMart.

I haven't made a post in over a month and I feel so horrible, I hate seeing blog pages that don't have recent activity on them, and now I'm in the same boat...

I am actually working on making a YouTube channel.  I have been filming, but it has not been an easy task. I'm still getting used to talking into the camera.
I am in the process of editing a couple videos that I have completed so they should be up very soon.

!July Favourites!

I know I am super late, but finally got around to it.  I bought a lot of products this month, (some of which I still have to try).  Here are the products I have not been able to live without this month, I literally wear each one every day.

BENEFIT - THE POREFESSIONAL

So I caved and bought this primer due to all the hype.  Anything that will help with my oily face is a must have for me.

This product promises to minimize the appearance of pores and fine lines.  I do not find that this does anything for my pores, however unlike the Smashbox Photofinish, this is a balm and I love the texture of it on my face.

I use this just on my t-zone and it works great.  It helps my t-zone stay oil free for a fairly long time and creates a great base for my foundation.

It is a pricey primer, cheaper than the Smashbox but still pricey.  However, since I only apply on my t-zone, I see this product lasting me a long time.  A little goes a long way with this stuff.

I just need to add how cute the packaging is, just like every other Benefit product.

MAYBELLINE - ROCKET VOLUM'EXPRESS (WATERPROOF)

I have to admit when I first tried this product, I hated it, I did not like the formula or the wand.  However, I required waterproof makeup one day, (day at the beach) so I decided to give this a try.

I have to say, I love it.  And it is so true, waterproof formulas help keep your lashes curled.  My lashes can never stay curled, by the time I finish my makeup and get out the door, my lashes are back to straight.

When I use this mascara, I do not have to use any other combination.  It lengthens and is buildable because it does not create clumps, so I get the volume I desire, it is just so perfect!

COLLECTION 2000 - LASTING PERFECTION CONCEALER

This is an amazing concealer.  Great coverage and it lasts all day without creasing.  It dries really fast, so you have to work quick with it, or else it will be difficult to blend out.

I received this in my beauty swap with Suth "A Sweet Escape" and I love her for sending it to me since it is not sold in any retail stores in Canada.

HOURGLASS - AMBIENT LIGHTING POWDER

This universal powder is amazing.  You know when your makeup only looks flawless in certain lighting?  With this range of powders, you will have that all the time. 

This product will give your face a sheen without shine, your skin will feel velvety smooth.

I purchased mine in “dim” it’s a light beige powder with warm and cool tones to blur imperfections.  

No matter how much of it you use, it will never look cakey.  I will definitely be purchasing the others.  

URBAN DECAY - 24/7 GLIDE ON EYE PENCIL (PERVERSION)

This is the perfect eye liner for tight lining and waterline.  It is waterproof and will not smudge all day.

It is extremely creamy and the blackest black.

It is pretty pricey but I just love the smooth application.  

HARD CANDY - BAKED BRONZER (HEAT WAVE)

This bronzer has a slight shimmer when applied, but it just beautiful for the summer.  Great for a no makeup look. 

It adds a great glow to your skin, super natural, with a dewy but matte finish.  It is really easy to work with, especially if you are a beginner because it is very forgiving.

It is a great highlighter as well. 

HOW TO FIND YOUR PERFECT FOUNDATION SHADE ONLINE

Online shopping is so convenient, however, finding the perfect foundation shade online can be very tricky.  I came across a website that is just brilliant!

You just have to enter at least 2 foundation shades that you know are a perfect match for you and then the website will do the rest.

It will give you a whole list of foundations and the shades that best match you, based on the shades that you entered.

*One thing to remember when using this site, if you enter shades that are only sheer coverage then the results will be for similar coverage foundations, it will not give results for a full coverage foundation.  So, make sure you enter a foundation shade with the desired coverage you are looking for.*

Vichy Review

VICHY NORMADERM

I have always loved Vichy products.  They are a little on the pricey side but if you can find their sets, they are  always a steal!

I stumbled across a set a couple weeks ago in Shoppers Drug Mart and I am glad that I did.  It is the "Complete Anti-Shine Routine" set which includes 30ml of the Total Mat Gel, Deep Cleansing Cream and a Toner.

If you have oily skin, I highly recommend this product.  I use this as a primer before applying any makeup and it is amazing, I no longer have to powder in order to mattify my skin.

Product Claims:

Skin care formula with high concentration of perlite. This natural ingredient of volcanic origin has been chosen for its strong absorbing power. Combined to micro-powders with ''blotting effect'' it absorbs oil / sebum and perspiration on the surface of the skin.
